The best thing about site is that it reminds you of your school days. Recall learning HTML and cobbling up a site on your desktop and going gaga over it. It seems almost a similar piece of art.
When pages of my passport got exhausted, I thought of finding out the process. And I was lost in the maze. Just so that others can benefit from the hitherto undocumented process, here goes a brief summary
1. Fill Form No. 1.
Don't be surprised. The form no where indicates that it is the one to be used for additional booklets.
2. Required documents are
a. Photo copies of first and last four pages of your passport.
b. Address Proof (And you have always used passport as an address proof !)
c. An application to passport officer asking for additional booklets.
For Tatkal: No extra documents required even for Tatkal. Though at site and in the form it is mentioned that you would require Annexure I and a Verification Certificate. All you need to do is mention that you need passport under Tatkal in the application. You get your passport in three days !
3. Go to Counter No. 7 in the passport office after getting a token number.
4. You would then be asked to pay fee at Counter No. 5 (at the moment).
5. Your current passport gets CANCELED and returned back to you. You would receive a new one in 10 days (without Tatkal)
FAQ
1. Will the validity of my passport get extended ?
That's the best thing. Since you receive a new passport with a new number, the counter gets reset...it's valid for next 10 years.
2. Will my current passport get canceled ?
Yes.
3. Can I get additional booklet under Tatkal ?
Yes. The best thing is you don't need any additional document than the ones mentioned above.
4. How can I get additional booklet with 60 pages?
The normal booklet has 36 pages. But if you need more, you can mention it in the application and get at an additional cost of Rs. 500
Not to take away the credit, I came out of the passport office in an hour...but then I had jumped the queue ;)

Reliance Data Card Sucks !!!
I dont know why it is called Reliance where as it is not at all Reliable. Whatever little experience I have of using Reliance offerings has been frustrating. They seem to try to get into everything and so most of the things they have to offer is unsatisfactory and of poor quality.
My experience has been mostly using their telecommunications services or products and it has been an utterly unpleasant experience. We have reliance phones in our office and they go out of service every now and then, even faster than swinging moods of a Bollywood actress. And then I got Reliance data card and lifes been painful ever after. I had a cable connection with a speed of 44 Kbps which was much better in comparison. The Reliance card offers a speed of 115 Kbps and it takes 15 seconds to open a google page !!! When I called at their customer care centre, I found out that I was having a super fast speed of 13 Kbps. The guy offered innovative solutions like deleting cookies and files to enhance the speed. When you call their customer centre, you get a message..."There might be intermittent problems while sending and receiving sms. Sorry for the inconvenience"..Now when have you herad such a thing about a Vodafone or an Airtel connection.
So, please do a proper research and get feedback before using any reliance products. A suggestion to Reliance...instead of roping in Amitabh for advertisements, please spend the crores you give to him to enhance the quality of your service.
